NOW!
She’s Not Dead is a youthful and explosive All Girl Band that fills the room with excitement at every show! Playing a mix of Hard Rock & Pop, with a touch of Punk, the girls have created a sound that is entirely their own. As an all female group, they stand out from other bands, turning many first-time listeners into hard-core fans.
With lead singer Kira Nesser fronting the band with her guitar strapped on like a weapon of rebel glory, She’s Not Dead leaves no room for doubt that something exciting is happening. Kira is backed by three spirited and authentic female musicians, who, with their unbridled enthusiasm, will show off their youthful frenzy when they perform. Samantha’s drums add the power to the music, while Annelise keeps her bass locked in to them, but loose enough to add a punk feel. Keiko fills in the background with warm keyboard layers. Don’t be surprised when you find yourself shouting and singing along to their songs upon listening to them for the first time!
The girls of She’s Not Dead have been writing their energizing and arousing songs for 3 years and all these songs were written to be performed live with extreme passion and excitement. They have played many successful shows in their hometown of Portland, Oregon at the Hawthorne Theatre, Tonic Lounge, the Branx, the Backspace, the Mt Tabor Theatre, the Red Room, the Annex, and the Wonder Ballroom, as well as several other venues. Performing all over Oregon and Washington in numerous rock venues such as the Central Saloon and Studio Seven in Seattle, and the Wow Hall in Eugene, the girls grace a plethora of live music venues with their astounding presence. Though audience members already expect something amazing when they hear of an all-girl rock band, they are completely blown away when they see She’s Not Dead in action.
The girls have also been selling many copies of their CDs at their live performances. “Somebody Save Me”, a song about feeling confused and alone, that many young people can relate to, has been played on 2 local radio shows: Viva La Luna and the Rock Zone. The band also has a visionary and controversial music video for “Somebody Save Me” that was filmed in a famous Portland cemetery. Some of the band’s other accomplishments include being nominated for Best in Rock on SongfestExpress.com. and performing at the Tualafest Battle of the Bands as the only girls in the contest, and showing the all-boy bands how it was done by winning first place!
At shows, you can expect to hear the girls shake the ground like an earthquake with their metal song “Feel Alive”, as well as soothe the audience with a softer song like “Dear Memories”. “Everybody Let’s Go” is a song they wrote that call people to the dance floor. Their song “Monsters In My Head”, which forms the introduction of their shows, was played on Kink FM Radio.
The influences for their music comes from the bands they love like Kill Hannah, Linkin Park, the Go Go’s, Blondie, VersaEmerge, Joan Jett, Hey Monday, The Runaways, ACDC, Paramore and Green Day. If they keep writing and performing with such a creative and exciting style and unstoppable attitude, it won’t be long before they perform alongside famous bands like these!
