Based on the East Coast of the United States, Acacio Carvalho is a growing force in the music industry. From his self-made creations to session and production works, everything related to the artist has a unique and energetic stamp on it. Acacio leans towards the unconventional, going against the grain and exploring new musical territories with every new project. This exploration helped shaping his drumming style as well as his producing and composing skills, creating the blend of energy, technique and raw instinct that is a trademark of his style.
The record draws on a wide range of influences, resulting in a very unique set of compositions. From the infectiously melodic “Memory Burn” to the crushing “Disposable Truth”, all the way to the epic “A Peek Behind the Curtain”, Cyber Gods explores the main corners of Acacio’s musical influences, leaving no stone unturned.
For the most part of the past two decades Acacio Carvalho has been recording and performing live with artists and bands from various parts of the world. His recording credits include bands and projects from countries like Brazil, United States, Kuwait and Greece. His complete dedication to his art has earned him the recognition of fans and industry professionals alike, allowing for a solid and steady artistic development.
Growing up in Brazil, Acacio had his initiation in music by taking piano lessons. Shortly after, he was introduced to the world of heavy music in the form of an Iron Maiden VHS tape. That was the crucial moment that changed his life forever. He was immediately fascinated with the drums, and they became his main vehicle through the incredible journey that was about to unfold.
Acacio started taking drum lessons at a local music school, learning the basics of the instrument and music theory. A few years later he formed his first band and started to write his own songs with friends. At age fourteen he started playing the club circuit in his hometown and at age fifteen he started touring regionally with pop cover bands. During this period he was also a student at the Brasília School of Music in Brazil.
After turning seventeen years old, Acacio joined his first national metal act “Dark Avenger”. This was the first time he toured outside of the central region of Brazil, expanding the reach of his work alongside the band. In 2005 he formed the band “Vougan”, recorded an EP and, shortly after, released a full length album with the band and started touring consistently throughout Brazil (eventually playing a summer tour in the United States and landing a number of endorsement deals with minor and major companies). During those years Acacio also worked as a session drummer for different acts throughout the country.
After thirteen years working in the Brazilian music industry Acacio moved to the United States to pursue his next goals. Since then, the musician has worked in various music productions, having recorded with bands and artists from different countries and with different cultural backgrounds, which has resulted in a diverse and ever-growing discography.
Acacio has gone far into his musical dreams, but the journey is just starting. For almost two decades he has dedicated his life to his art, and now his artistic flame is burning brighter than ever. Acacio is reaching for higher levels of audio and visual expression, turning ideas and concepts into exciting realities and making this journey more interesting than ever before.
