We have here in exclusive more HEART from the excellent IAC Music “Alive The Live” series only released in Japan (CD manufactured in Taiwan), this time capturing the band at the at the Memorial Auditorium, Greenville, SC, in 1983.

Live 1983” documents the Wilson sisters during the ‘Passionworks Tour’ presenting the studio album of the the same title, before their massive mainstream rock era and being signed by Capitol Records. And while in the new songs we can hear a commercial approach already, the band’s hard rocking edge is still much all over this live show.
The ”Passionworks” tour ran through 1983 to 1984 with a setlist that reaches as far back as their esteemed 1975 debut ‘Dreamboat Annie’.
This show at the Memorial Auditorium, Greenville, South Carolina in November 1983 sees Heart saluting their new step into mainstream rock, but reminding everyone present that minus the hairstyle, two new members (bassist Mark Andes and drummer Denny Carmassi) and two new hit singles (‘How Can I Refuse’ and ‘Allies’), Heart is as much a part of the great American songbook as any of the post-Woodstock rock veterans.

Arriving from Ronnie Montrose’s band Gamma, monster drummer Denny Carmassi shows here that he already lock-in with new bass player Mark Andes to create Heart’s solid foundation to their road to success, and Ann & Nancy feel passionate on both their vocal and guitar performances.
Highly Recommended
