After the recent post of the China Blue CD, some of you asked for one of that album co-writers; MICHAEL RIESENBECK. This talented multi-instrumentalist worked with renowned musicians / bands both helping with songwriting and session work. But he has a solo album too: “Shouting Silence“, released by Perris Records.
On “Shouting Silence” Riesenbeck play Keyboards, Drums, Guitar, but he called some of the best from the business not only as guest performers > to co-write some songs as well.
Among the first class musicians participating there’s Jeff Pilson (ex Dokken), Tony O’Hara (ex Praying Mantis), Lars Säfsund (Work Of Art, Lionville), Phil Vincent, his friend Eric Ragno, Kimmo Blom (Sapphire Eyes, Charming Grace), Lec Zorn (The Lec Zorn Project), and many more.
As you see, all Melodic Rock / AOR related musicians, and that’s the musical focus put on “Shouting Silence”. The Perris Records hype sticker on front of the CD assure ‘Journey & TOTO style’ music. Well, there’s obvious influences from these giants, and while not at the same level, we find some very good tunes on this platter. Heck, even a track is titled “Toto’s Giant Journey”.
A really enjoyable set of melodic songs, well-written, performed and produced.
