Continuing with the requests of early music from impressive Croatian vocalist / musician DINO JELUSIC before he became world-wide famous working for Whitesnake, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, The Dead Daisies, Magnus Carlsson’s Free Fall and many more – and of course his own bands Animal Drive and Jelusic – here’s his mega-rare third solo effort: “Prosao Sam Sve“.
As you might guess from the CD title, “Prosao Sam Sve” is sung by Jelusic in his native language, however, it’s enjoyable anyway, and this album is the first to feature the entire song list written by Dino himself.
After the release of his previous LP ‘Living My Own Life’ (featured yesterday in exclusive) in 2011, Dino planned some gigs in Scandivavia to present the album but shortly thereafter required surgery due to issues with his vocal cords. The surgery was a success and he underwent vocal training, and then released this “Prošao sam sve” (“I went through everything”) in 2014, the first album where he was also the main songwriter. At this point, Jelusic had also learned bass and keyboards, and play both on the album.
“Prošao sam sve” is a very, very rare CD, a collectible for all DINO JELUSIC fans.
Despite his expansive career so far, Dino is only 32 years-old now. As his parents are musicians, Jelusick was introduced to music and singing at the age of three and started performing at the age of five by appearing on television, on stages, and at festivals. He won Croatia’s Junior Eurovision 2003 with mere 11, and recorded / released his first album (pop-rock) that same year.
As Jelusic entered his teens and lost his ability to hit the high notes, he grown up listening to King’s X, Whitesnake, Dream Theater and Toto, among others, and he decided to change his musical direction to hard rock and metal.
The release of “Prošao sam sve” was accompanied with the book that inspired this album called ‘260 dana’ (260 days) by author Marijan Gubina about his childhood in occupied town during war in Croatia in 1990s. While lyrics are in Croatian language, you can feel the emotion through these songs via Dino’s passionate performances.
