Whitney Houston performed three benefit concerts in post-apartheid South Africa in 1994 – Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town. Over 200,000 people attended the concert. The proceeds went to children’s charities through her foundation. Whitney’s powerful voice and emotional delivery brought joy and inspiration to the newly liberated country.
