Here’s in exclusive at plotn08 the superb 11xCD Box Set “1980-2023” comprising the entire discography of Norway’s fantastic band LAVA. The clam-shell box includes all the 10 LAVA albums fully remastered with pristine sound quality – plus a disc of rarities, some of them previously unreleased.
Each CD is housed in a card sleeve, and there’s a very detailed 52-page booklet with liner notes, rare photos, etc.
Among music aficionados, LAVA has often been referred to as “Scandinavia’s Toto”. For us, as a music lovers and avid fan of classic AOR, this analogy fits very well. However, LAVA has a distinctive identity and will forever be LAVA – a sensational band with its own musical expression.
LAVA has played an extremely decisive role in the history of Norwegian popular music and has left an indelible mark, not only as a band, but also as studio musicians, producers and songwriters and thus gifted many artists with their combined musical talents.
When you hear LAVA since their 1980’s first album – CD1 in the box – immediately struck a chord. The entire vibe recalls much of the music coming out of Los Angeles at the time with bands like Toto, Pages, Marc Jordan, Nielsen/Pearson and several other artists from this era.
