We were positively surprised three years ago by Swiss rockers D’OR debut album ‘Veni Vidi Ignis’, well received by the press and fans alike. On stage, the band shone with their excellent live skills and were highly acclaimed at both club shows and festivals. This made it even more important for the band around mastermind, singer and guitarist Andy Dormann (KISSIN’ BLACK, ex-CHARING CROSS) to present a new D’OR album worthy of the name. To take at least one more step forward.
”Antiheroes” is without a doubt the logical and perfect successor to the debut album, presenting itself with even stronger songs and a fatter, more fitting sound.
While the first CD was a wild mix of ALICE COOPER, SKID ROW and W.A.S.P., ”Antiheroes” adds a dash of ’80s U.S. metal from ARMORED SAINT and sometimes there seems to be a touch of Teutonic Metal á la ACCEPT.
Andy‘s voice has matured and is even more distinctive than on the debut, and the songwriting improved with more effective melodies and catchiness.
