Early in this Century, Frontiers Music started to release annual double-CD compilations including material of artists from their roster. As requested, here’s their very first of these, 2002’s “V.A. Rock The Bones“, a sold out release and a collectible.
The interesting thing of this volume 1 is that includes many different song versions than the ones finally appeared later into the artist’s official album releases.
Elsewhere, there’s a Mickey Thomas track which never got released at all (a beautiful AOR tune btw), the demo version of Michael Sembello’s ‘Love Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’ has more keyboards, etc.
Additionally, “V.A. Rock The Bones” volume one works great as a melodic rock / AOR compilation in general as includes songs, among others, from Hardline, Eric Martin, Jim Peterik, Honeymoon Suite, Harem Scarem, Mecca, Giant, Jeff Scott Soto, etc.
